Tiny Pineapple

Image
This week was a little challenging, but also super fun. Elder Price and I visited a lot of people and he got to say good bye to them. Transfers were on Wednesday, and I got to see a lot of my missionary friends so that was awesome. I also picked up my new companion, Elder Coronel. He is super cool, but he is my first comp that doesn't speak fluent English so I have been practicing my Portuguese a lot this week. Our first day together we were walking to lunch and this random person flipped us off for no reason, so we have made quite a few jokes about that already. We also found a tiny pineapple on the road so we took a few pictures of it.  Unfortunately nobody could make it to church with us this week even though some people said they would. I think next week will be better though because this week just felt weird because of transfers.  My spiritual thought this week is Matthew 23:12. "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be ...

Not a lot happened this week, so this is going to be a shorter email. We got transfer news yesterday and I am going to stay in the same area with the newly combined ward. My new companion is from Ecuador and his name in Elder Coronel.  I almost got tackled by our friend's pitbull this week. I'm pretty sure it is a puppy, but it is fully grown, and it gets super excited when we go over. It normally just nips at my feet and legs. For some reason she got super excited one time this week and jumped up and hit me in the chest. We also saw some super cute puppies this week at a member's house.  Sunday was a super good day because lots of people came to church. There were about 175 people there, so our new combined ward is huge. I also got called on to read a scripture during Sunday School in front of everyone so that was a little exciting.   My spiritual thought for this week is about the First Vision. This is a historical event in our church's history because it is the st...

This week was a little crazy. We found out that our ward is going to be joined with another one this next Sunday. This is a little interesting because the other ward wasn't even in our stake so now we share a ward with other missionaries that aren't even in our zone.  I got to go on divisions with one of the Zone Leaders, Elder Rangel, this week. He is an awesome missionary and he only has 3 months left. We found a lot of new people for them to teach and I got to help him practice his English after he helped me practice my Portuguese.  Elder Price and I found a new family to teach and they all want to be baptized. We had quite a few people at church yesterday so that was good. Especially because the mission president was there to visit the wards before they get combined and we got to introduce him to our friends.  Today was zone p-day at president's house. We got to play volleyball and pickleball, plus I got to grow closer to some of the other missionaries in my zone....

The Banana 🍌

T his was another long week. It was awesome though. For New Years we got to have a Churrasco with one of our favorite families of our ward. We also had lunch with them the next day and they decided one Churrasco wasn't enough so we had another one the very next day. We also played Monopoly with them because nobody wanted to meet with us.  Our ward continues to be awesome, but sadly we only got one guy to church but they did a great job helping us teach him.  At one of our lunches this week the members gave us bananas to eat. The little girl gave me a banana that had two bananas in one peel. They told me I would have good luck if I ate it, so I did. Afterwards they told me my good luck was that I would have twins.  My spiritual thought for this week is a good scripture I read this week. It is 2nd Nephi 2:24. "But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things." I like this verse because when bad things happen it is easy to get discouraged and...
