Transfers and service

Image
This week was awesome. We got to do 3 service projects. We had a lot of lessons.  Transfers is this week and I get to stay in Araxá for another transfer. I'm going to have a new companion though. His name is Elder Poulson. He's also been on the mission for a while and we're already friends, so this next transfer is going to be pretty great.  We played some soccer today. That's I'll that I have for today, but I hope you all are going good.  Heaven is cheering you on! If you have any questions or just want to talk you can email me at   benson.plaster@missionary.org . Barreiro and exchanges

Image
This week was awesome. Today we went to this place called Barreiro. It’s this awesome tourist attraction with a very nice old hotel and a few lakes close by. It's a super beautiful place with lots of wildlife.  We also had exchanges this week with the Zone Leaders, so we had to travel to a different city for the 3rd straight week. It was pretty good but it did rain quite a bit.  This week we had the first branch activity in my time here and it was super fun. There weren't a lot of members there but we got some of our friends there so it was great.  I don't have enough time to share a scripture this week, but just remember that God loves you and that He sacrificed His Son for you. Hope you all have a wonderful week! If you have any questions or just want to talk you can email me at   benson.plaster@missionary.org . Zone conference and Interviews

Image
Not a lot happened this week. We started off the week with zone conference and interviews with President. We only had time for 5-minute interviews with President, because zone conference went late and we didn't want to miss our bus. Other than that nothing special happened.  Today I want to share a scripture that I studied this week. It's in Mosiah 27:36-37. "And thus they were instruments in the hands of God in bringing many to the knowledge of the truth, yea, to the knowledge of their Redeemer. 37 And how blessed are they! For they did publish peace; they did publish good tidings of good; and they did declare unto the people that the Lord reigneth." I love this scripture because it shares what happened with other people that chose to follow God and be missionaries and leave their pasts behind them. I am so grateful for all of the blessings that I have and will receive as a missionary. I know that God will use us as instruments in His hands when we choose to serve ot...

Antônio's Baptism

Image
This week was awesome. A little less than 2 months ago we were walking in front of the bus station and a drunk guy stopped up and asked if we were bus drivers. We told him that we are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He told us that he needed Jesus in his life so we got his phone number and his address and invited him to church.  That guys name is Antônio and this Sunday he was washed clean of his sins and baptized. His story is truly amazing and I wish I could explain everything that happened but what's most important is that his life was changed by Jesus Christ.  We got to teach him all of the lessons on the side of the road and he has really been a trooper. One day this week we visited him with a member and it started raining so we all huddled under 2 umbrellas and finished the lesson to help him be prepared. It was truly amazing to see someone be completely transformed by our Savior.  Outside of that I don't remember a lot of what happ...
