Another quick week

Image
This week passed by super fast. I don't really remember what happened other than we had a lot of lessons that got cancelled the day we were supposed to visit the people. We have been able to work a lot with the members recently and it's been amazing.  There’s not a lot of stuff to do in this city, so p-days have been kind of boring, but we're gonna find something cool to do next week. Sadly most of our friends that were at church last week were traveling this past week but we're going to be able to visit them all this week.  This week I had the opportunity to study a BYU speech given by Brad Wilcox. It's called "His Grace is Sufficient" and it's amazing. Would definitely recommend listening to it if you have some time. My favorite part says this, "The miracle of the Atonement is not just that we can go home but that—miraculously—we can feel at home there. If Christ did not require faith and repentance, then there would be no desire to change....

Zone conference and more rain 🌧

Image
This week was pretty good. We had zone conference to start the week. It was good to talk with our mission president a little.  Afterwards we came back to Araxá and had a busy week.  It also rained a lot, but that didn't stop us. We had 8 people at church on Sunday and most of them we found this week so we will keep working with them and get to know them a little better.  I want to share part of a hymn that I like a lot. It is from Praise to the Man in the 4th verse it says, "Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven". I really love this quote because it helps us know that the sacrifices we are making are worth it. We will be immensely blessed for all of the sacrifices that we make in order to establish God's kingdom on the earth. 💥Kaboom💥

This week was pretty good. The title today is because we were walking home from church on Sunday and a car smashed a garage door open. We thought someone was going to get out of the car, but after a little bit we realized that no one was in it. Luckily no one got hurt and there was no car passing when it happened. We got to help them pick up the heavy metal door and tilt it against a wall.  Other than that the week was pretty chill. We got a lot of work done but then we got up on Sunday and it was raining so we had less people at church than we were expecting. It was still pretty good though.  This week I want to share a scripture about repentance. Moroni 6:8 "But as oft as they repented and sought forgiveness, with real intent, they were forgiven." This scripture talks a lot about the goodness of God and how forgiving he is. It doesn't matter how bad or many times we mess up if we repent with real intent seeking forgiveness we will receive it. I’m so grateful for all of ...

This week was pretty good. I was a little sick, but we were still able to get out every day. We invited a few of our friends to be baptized so if you guys could pray for Lidiane and Edson that would be awesome.  I would like to share a scripture I found when studying this week. Alma 32:27 "But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words." I know that faith is really important and as we do the small thing to exercise our faith we will be blessed and receive a greater knowledge. I invite you all to do something this week to exercise your faith.  Hope you all have a wonderful week. Weeding

Image
This week was pretty short so not a lot happened. We got to weed someone’s backyard. I got to meet the members at church on Sunday. It was super different because there weren't that many people there, but the spirit was still super strong. We had some friends at church which was awesome. For my spiritual thought I attached a video of Elder Holland that I really liked.  (Video linked here)   You should all watch it. When we try our best to keep the commandments we will be blessed and happier. Hope you all are doing well. New Year in Araxá

Image
Happy New Year!!! This week was pretty crazy. We had the baptism of our friend Amauri on Sunday. I finally left Tibery after 7 months. It was pretty sad to leave because I have so many friends there, but I'm super excited for my new area and have lots of energy to work now.  I got transferred to a city called Araxá. There is only a small branch in the city and there are 4 missionaries taking care of the entire city. It's nice though because it is a small, chill city. My companion is an American named Elder Dewey. This is his second transfer so I'll get to finish his training. He was in a trio last transfer so now we will get to focus on our area and the people we are teaching. P-day was today so I haven't got to meet the members or go to church here yet. I literally traveled here yesterday morning.  I would like to share a quote I love from a talk given by Elder Eyring. It is called "This Day". "There is a danger in the word someday when what it means is ...

Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

Merry Christmas!!! Hope you all had a great day!  I feel like being on the mission today helped me feel how Jesus felt when he had to leave His Father in Heaven to come to the earth for His divine mission. It helped me realize that even though it is difficult to be away from family during the holidays, I know that I am where I'm supposed to be. This week was very long because P-day got moved to Christmas day. I don't remember a lot of what happened, but I do know we had a lot of spiritual lessons and even though we aren't seeing immediate results the blessings will come.  This week I had the opportunity to study a little about Christ's birth. I love this part in Luke 2 that talks about when the angel tells the shepherds about Christ's birth. "13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." I really love the message of joy and peace...
