This week was kinda boring. Not many funny stories happened, but it was still a very good week. My companion and I got to give the lesson in Elder's Quorum on Sunday so that was exciting. We also went to a class on Sunday that was about baptism and repentance. The teacher was really funny so it was easy to pay attention, and he told us that if we came on our missions to plant seeds, we should go home and become a farmer instead. Our goal as missionaries should be to baptize people and bring them unto salvation instead of just "planting seeds".  On Monday night I got to listen to a bunch of conspiracy theories about the second coming because the room next to us has some missionaries that have studied a lot about it and have heard some pretty crazy things.  On Wednesday we went to the temple and got to do sealings. It was pretty awesome to be able to feel the spirit and know that I get to be with my family forever, especially because I was feeling a little homesick the day ...

Rocks in my beans

This week went by pretty fast, but there are a few funny stories to share. On Saturday I was eating dinner and I found something in my beans that definitely wasn't a bean. I found a rock in them. Luckily it was before I tried to eat it because I definitely would've destroyed my tooth. That same day one of the elders in my district, Elder Howard, got a bug bite on his finger and it swelled up so much that he couldn't get his ring off. He ended up getting his ring off when it started to shrink, but he almost had to get the ring cut off.  On Wednesday this week we had choir practice and a devotional. Even though I don't always know what I am singing in Portuguese it is nice to have that time to feel the spirit. The devotional was given by Elder Dieter F Uchtdorf and it was for all missionaries in the MTC right now. We were a little jealous that he gave it at the Provo MTC and not at the São Paulo MTC because it would have been cool to see him. It was still awesome to hear ...

First Week of MTC

Oi! A lot has happened since last p-day so I'll try not to make this one super long but it's going to be a long one. The food here isn't too bad, but it is the exact same thing every day, so it does get a little repetitive. For breakfast every morning we get a ham and cheese sandwich and fake powder eggs. Lunch and dinner are almost always rice, beans, and some sort of mystery meat. It normally depends on the day for what the meat is but half of the time I have no idea what I am eating. The best part of every meal is definitely the Brazilian soda called Guaraná.  We have gone to the temple 3 times already. Twice to the Campinas temple and once to the São Paulo temple. I don't think I realized how big São Paulo was until it took us an hour and a half to drive to the São Paulo temple from the MTC. Going to the temple has been awesome though and it has offered much needed peace during our busy MTC schedule. The ride is always exciting though because all of the buses and v...

Made it to Brasil!

Image
Olá! I finaly made it to the Brasil MTC today. It only took me 14.5 hours on a plane and an hour long bus ride, but I did it. The total travel time from when I left my house yesterday was a little over 24 hours. The week of home mtc really prepared me to just sit in a chair all day long.   The city of São Paulo is the biggest city I have ever been in and the traffic was very crazy. It reminded me a lot of when my younger brother Kimball was driving me last week.  A spiritual experience I had this week was when I was waiting for my flight in Spokane this lady came and sat next to me. She was talking to me about my mission and she also served a mission in Brasil. She really helped me feel comforted and made me realize that I can do this.  Anyways, if any of you have any questions feel free to reach out. Love you guys!  Tchau,  Elder Plaster My district online Sunset in São Paulo
