New Year in Araxá

Happy New Year!!!

This week was pretty crazy. We had the baptism of our friend Amauri on Sunday. I finally left Tibery after 7 months. It was pretty sad to leave because I have so many friends there, but I'm super excited for my new area and have lots of energy to work now.

I got transferred to a city called Araxá. There is only a small branch in the city and there are 4 missionaries taking care of the entire city. It's nice though because it is a small, chill city. My companion is an American named Elder Dewey. This is his second transfer so I'll get to finish his training. He was in a trio last transfer so now we will get to focus on our area and the people we are teaching. P-day was today so I haven't got to meet the members or go to church here yet. I literally traveled here yesterday morning.

I would like to share a quote I love from a talk given by Elder Eyring. It is called "This Day". "There is a danger in the word someday when what it means is “not this day.” “Someday I will repent.” “Someday I will forgive him.” “Someday I will speak to my friend about the Church.” “Someday I will start to pay tithing.” “Someday I will return to the temple.” “Someday ..." The scriptures make the danger of delay clear. It is that we may discover that we have run out of time. The God who gives us each day as a treasure will require an accounting. We will weep, and He will weep, if we have intended to repent and to serve Him in tomorrows which never came or have dreamt of yesterdays where the opportunity to act was past. This day is a precious gift of God. The thought “Someday I will” can be a thief of the opportunities of time and the blessings of eternity." I love this talk because it talks about how important it is to change today and not procrastinate the important things. We should not delay repentance and our service to God. We shouldn't waste opportunities to share the gospel or help our friends because we push it off. We should do everything we can to change and help others today because we never know what will happen tomorrow. Hope you guys have a great 2026!
