Fish head 🐟

Hey everybody! I hope all is well. This week felt pretty crazy, but at the same time not a lot happened. It could really just be the Portuguese wiping out all of my mental capacity. 

I got my new companion this week and we were already kind of friends, so we didn't really have the awkward first few days together that normally happens after transfers. The coolest thing that happened this week was that we found a fish head on the side of the road and the other was we saw a toucan today. I also got to hang out with 3 Brazilians the day of transfers because they were the only other missionaries staying in Anápolis. 

This week I saw a little miracle. I was feeling a little alone this week and that no matter what I couldn't do enough to help the missionary work in our ward. On Sunday members in our ward were talking to the people we brought to church and sitting with them and trying to help us get other people to church. This really helped me, and I knew it was a sign from Heavenly Father that I wasn't alone and that He would send people to help me. It also made me realize how aware He is of every single one of us and our individual problems. I know that Heavenly Father loves every single one of us and will always be there for us even when it feels like we are alone. I know that when we turn to Him through prayer, He will hear us and help us. I hope you all have a great week and have the chance to make time for God in your life. I love you all! Transfers!!!

This week was a little rough. I was sick for most of the week and that made me feel even more homesick. The hot weather is still messing with my body a bit. While I was sick my brain kept on telling me I should be getting chills but it was just too hot for that to happen.  Last night we found out what would happen this transfer. I will be moving to a different area that is about 20 or 30 minutes north of Garavelo. I will be in a completely different zone of the mission though. Luckily I will have another American companion, Elder Price, so I won't be completely lost but I will have to try to force myself to learn Portuguese. We are going to be over the Goia area and it is pretty big like the Garavelo area.  This week we had district council and one of the sisters in our district is going home tomorrow so it was fun to see that if you work hard you will eventually get to go home. This week felt like forever. Packing up all my stuff just to unpack was a lot more annoying than I thought it would be. I already love the new area I am in. Elder Price is awesome. He has already helped me so much with Portuguese and being more confident in my skills.  We had a ward Christmas party and church on Sunday so I have already met a lot of the people in our ward. We share our chapel with another set of missionaries, so we got to sing with them and the little kids in our wards during the other wards primary program on Sunday.  I got to try some more interesting food this week. Someone gave us corn flavored Popsicles after we ate lunch with them one day. My brain was so confused by it because I never thought I would eat something like that. It was Elder Price's birthday this week and some members invited us over to celebrate with some cake. We have many friends that are close to baptism but sadly none of them were at church this Sunday. The Banana 🍌

T his was another long week. It was awesome though. For New Years we got to have a Churrasco with one of our favorite families of our ward. We also had lunch with them the next day and they decided one Churrasco wasn't enough so we had another one the very next day. We also played Monopoly with them because nobody wanted to meet with us.  Our ward continues to be awesome, but sadly we only got one guy to church but they did a great job helping us teach him.  At one of our lunches this week the members gave us bananas to eat. The little girl gave me a banana that had two bananas in one peel. They told me I would have good luck if I ate it, so I did. Afterwards they told me my good luck was that I would have twins.  My spiritual thought for this week is a good scripture I read this week. It is 2nd Nephi 2:24. "But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things." I like this verse because when bad things happen it is easy to get discouraged and...
