Food poisoning???

This week was good until the weekend hit. We saw some monkeys one day this week, so Elder Coronel went and bought bananas real quick but when we returned, they were gone so we ate the bananas instead. Not many of our references have been responding to messages so we have just been visiting the few families we have been teaching and the members in our ward. We got the same food for lunch 3 days in a row this week so that was a little funny but it's one of my favorite foods, so I wasn't that mad.

This weekend was rough because I either have food poisoning or some bacteria in my stomach that my body does not like. Not fun. 🤢 Luckily my companion has done a great job of taking care of me and the members of our ward are awesome so they literally brought medicine and lunch to our house when we couldn't leave. I am feeling better now so hopefully it continues that way.

My spiritual thought for this week is Moroni 10:23. "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God." I know that as we all try to come closer to Christ and look unto Him, we will become more than we can ever imagine. We will also be able to see His hand in our lives helping us through every trial and challenge. Including the small ones like bacteria.

Transfers!!!

This week was a little rough. I was sick for most of the week and that made me feel even more homesick. The hot weather is still messing with my body a bit. While I was sick my brain kept on telling me I should be getting chills but it was just too hot for that to happen.  Last night we found out what would happen this transfer. I will be moving to a different area that is about 20 or 30 minutes north of Garavelo. I will be in a completely different zone of the mission though. Luckily I will have another American companion, Elder Price, so I won't be completely lost but I will have to try to force myself to learn Portuguese. We are going to be over the Goia area and it is pretty big like the Garavelo area.  This week we had district council and one of the sisters in our district is going home tomorrow so it was fun to see that if you work hard you will eventually get to go home. This week felt like forever. Packing up all my stuff just to unpack was a lot more annoying than I thought it would be. I already love the new area I am in. Elder Price is awesome. He has already helped me so much with Portuguese and being more confident in my skills.  We had a ward Christmas party and church on Sunday so I have already met a lot of the people in our ward. We share our chapel with another set of missionaries, so we got to sing with them and the little kids in our wards during the other wards primary program on Sunday.  I got to try some more interesting food this week. Someone gave us corn flavored Popsicles after we ate lunch with them one day. My brain was so confused by it because I never thought I would eat something like that. It was Elder Price's birthday this week and some members invited us over to celebrate with some cake. We have many friends that are close to baptism but sadly none of them were at church this Sunday. The Banana 🍌

T his was another long week. It was awesome though. For New Years we got to have a Churrasco with one of our favorite families of our ward. We also had lunch with them the next day and they decided one Churrasco wasn't enough so we had another one the very next day. We also played Monopoly with them because nobody wanted to meet with us.  Our ward continues to be awesome, but sadly we only got one guy to church but they did a great job helping us teach him.  At one of our lunches this week the members gave us bananas to eat. The little girl gave me a banana that had two bananas in one peel. They told me I would have good luck if I ate it, so I did. Afterwards they told me my good luck was that I would have twins.  My spiritual thought for this week is a good scripture I read this week. It is 2nd Nephi 2:24. "But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things." I like this verse because when bad things happen it is easy to get discouraged and...
