🔥 Fire 🔥

This week was nice. Lately there have been a lot of fires in our area. It is really funny how nobody cares about the fires and the don't call the firefighters even if they are right next to houses or stores. They are a lot more trusting in the moisture of the plants than I am. 

The world cup starts this week and Brasil is definitely ready for it. I don't think I've ever seen so many streets painted, flags, and jerseys for one event in my life. It's going to be a super cool experience being here during this time. 

The work here has been progressing very slowly recently so we are going to try to focus our efforts on a few people/families and see what happens with them. 

Recently I have been studying Elder Holland's talks. I started at the beginning and am about halfway through. This week I studied his talk called "Safety for the Soul". In it he talks about how the Book of Mormon will help us and protect us in these last days. He says, "Love. Healing. Help. Hope. The power of Christ to counter all troubles in all times—including the end of times. That is the safe harbor God wants for us in personal or public days of despair. That is the message with which the Book of Mormon begins, and that is the message with which it ends, calling all to “come unto Christ, and be perfected in him.”." 

I know that the Book of Mormon really has this message and can change our lives if we focus on Jesus as we read it. As I have studied the Book of Mormon recently I have felt comforted and guided as a missionary knowing how to help others and how to be a better missionary. Crazy week

This week was very different. We had exchanges and this drunk guy tried to argue with us about the story of Adam and Eve.  I got to say goodbye to my companion at the bus station as he returns home on Wednesday. Now I get to stay with the Zone Leaders, for the next 4 days, in a house with 5 missionaries and 1 bathroom.  Transfers are a little different with our new mission president and I won't know what's going to happen until early tomorrow morning. We also got to go to a party where there was lots of food and had a table to share Book of Mormons and other pamphlets about the church.  Always remember that God loves you and He is there to help you through all of your difficulties. All you have to do is get on your knees and pray to Him and ask for help.  I love you guys! Hope you're all doing fantastic! Miracles

This week was amazing but also really crazy. I saw many miracles this week.  The first one was I found Peanut Butter when I was with the Zone Leaders. I have eaten many PB and J sandwiches the past few days. I also decided to make a sandwich with pancakes and that was also super good.  The second miracle was that Elder Aviz, my new companion, arrived in Uberlândia. His bus never showed up but they got him on the last bus that came to Uberlândia so he didn't have to sleep at the bus station. He only had to wait 5 or 6 hours at the bus station. Luckily I woke up at 2 am when they called so we could pick them up from the bus station.  The third miracle is that someone who talked to the missionaries a while ago decided to show up to church and has a lot of interest in returning more times. Transfers???

This week was pretty good. We've been preparing for the next transfer and trying to find people who want to meet with us more than one time. Our friend who has been progressing the most told us he is trying to move so we are hoping and praying that he ends up staying in the area.  I can't remember of anything special that happened this week. I'm feeling a lot better and not as sick anymore. We should be getting transfer news tomorrow which is nerve racking because I have no idea what is going to happen. This week we faced a lot of rejection and we got a little frustrated.  My spiritual thought to you guys is to keep on going. Even though we will experience hard times and people will reject us we need to keep on loving them. Jesus was rejected and suffered way worse than we will in this life.
