Antônio's Baptism

This week was awesome. A little less than 2 months ago we were walking in front of the bus station and a drunk guy stopped up and asked if we were bus drivers. We told him that we are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He told us that he needed Jesus in his life so we got his phone number and his address and invited him to church. That guys name is Antônio and this Sunday he was washed clean of his sins and baptized. His story is truly amazing and I wish I could explain everything that happened but what's most important is that his life was changed by Jesus Christ. We got to teach him all of the lessons on the side of the road and he has really been a trooper. One day this week we visited him with a member and it started raining so we all huddled under 2 umbrellas and finished the lesson to help him be prepared. It was truly amazing to see someone be completely transformed by our Savior. 

Outside of that I don't remember a lot of what happened this week. I know we stayed very busy with many lessons this week. 

In our sunday school class we talked a lot about Genesis 19 and Lot and his wife. This applies very well to what happened with Antônio and really everyone. When we choose to follow Jesus we have to make sacrifices and leave them behind. If we look back or long for the things we left we will not be able to fully commit to Jesus. There will always be something holding us back from reaching our divine potential. So don't be afraid and choose to serve God with everything that you have. Crazy week

This week was very different. We had exchanges and this drunk guy tried to argue with us about the story of Adam and Eve.  I got to say goodbye to my companion at the bus station as he returns home on Wednesday. Now I get to stay with the Zone Leaders, for the next 4 days, in a house with 5 missionaries and 1 bathroom.  Transfers are a little different with our new mission president and I won't know what's going to happen until early tomorrow morning. We also got to go to a party where there was lots of food and had a table to share Book of Mormons and other pamphlets about the church.  Always remember that God loves you and He is there to help you through all of your difficulties. All you have to do is get on your knees and pray to Him and ask for help.  I love you guys! Hope you're all doing fantastic! Miracles

This week was amazing but also really crazy. I saw many miracles this week.  The first one was I found Peanut Butter when I was with the Zone Leaders. I have eaten many PB and J sandwiches the past few days. I also decided to make a sandwich with pancakes and that was also super good.  The second miracle was that Elder Aviz, my new companion, arrived in Uberlândia. His bus never showed up but they got him on the last bus that came to Uberlândia so he didn't have to sleep at the bus station. He only had to wait 5 or 6 hours at the bus station. Luckily I woke up at 2 am when they called so we could pick them up from the bus station.  The third miracle is that someone who talked to the missionaries a while ago decided to show up to church and has a lot of interest in returning more times. Bowling and Futebol

This week was pretty chill, nothing crazy happened. Portuguese is getting easier and I don't have think as hard to understand people. When my comp wants to practice his English with me at night sometimes I get a headache from it, but I know I still need to help him because he helps me with Portuguese during the rest of the day.  I got to play some soccer with some kids in the street the other day and that was fun. Then today I got to go to the bowling alley with my zone for p-day. I didn't realize how much different it would be. All of the bowling pins were connected to strings to stand then up after they got knocked over. It was a pretty cool experience.  My spiritual thought for this week is in the Bible. Matthew 11: 28-30 " Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
