Transfers!!!

Hey everyone! This week was a little crazy, but we survived. We got transfer news last night and I am going to move to a new city. It is called Uberlândia and the area I'm going to is called Tibery. I will travel there this Wednesday and it will be the longest I have traveled so far. Hopefully I can sleep on the bus. 

This week we got to work with Kainã for a day and I got to say goodbye to him. We also had a ward activity this week. Sadly, not many people were there, but we still had a little fun. 

The scripture I have to share this week is Moroni 7:18. "And now, my brethren, seeing that ye know the light by which ye may judge, which light is the light of Christ, see that ye do not judge wrongfully; for with that same judgment which ye judge ye shall also be judged." This week I noticed I was struggling to not judge people because of a few struggles that were happening in our ward. Luckily I found this scripture while studying and realized that nobody is perfect. When we "judge" people we should be focused on what Christ thinks of them and not what the world wants us to think of them. I want to invite you all to join me this week and try a little harder to think about what Christ thinks about others and how much He loves them like we should. I hope everyone has a great week! Transfers!!!

This week was a little rough. I was sick for most of the week and that made me feel even more homesick. The hot weather is still messing with my body a bit. While I was sick my brain kept on telling me I should be getting chills but it was just too hot for that to happen.  Last night we found out what would happen this transfer. I will be moving to a different area that is about 20 or 30 minutes north of Garavelo. I will be in a completely different zone of the mission though. Luckily I will have another American companion, Elder Price, so I won't be completely lost but I will have to try to force myself to learn Portuguese. We are going to be over the Goia area and it is pretty big like the Garavelo area.  This week we had district council and one of the sisters in our district is going home tomorrow so it was fun to see that if you work hard you will eventually get to go home. This week felt like forever. Packing up all my stuff just to unpack was a lot more annoying than I thought it would be. I already love the new area I am in. Elder Price is awesome. He has already helped me so much with Portuguese and being more confident in my skills.  We had a ward Christmas party and church on Sunday so I have already met a lot of the people in our ward. We share our chapel with another set of missionaries, so we got to sing with them and the little kids in our wards during the other wards primary program on Sunday.  I got to try some more interesting food this week. Someone gave us corn flavored Popsicles after we ate lunch with them one day. My brain was so confused by it because I never thought I would eat something like that. It was Elder Price's birthday this week and some members invited us over to celebrate with some cake. We have many friends that are close to baptism but sadly none of them were at church this Sunday. The Banana 🍌

T his was another long week. It was awesome though. For New Years we got to have a Churrasco with one of our favorite families of our ward. We also had lunch with them the next day and they decided one Churrasco wasn't enough so we had another one the very next day. We also played Monopoly with them because nobody wanted to meet with us.  Our ward continues to be awesome, but sadly we only got one guy to church but they did a great job helping us teach him.  At one of our lunches this week the members gave us bananas to eat. The little girl gave me a banana that had two bananas in one peel. They told me I would have good luck if I ate it, so I did. Afterwards they told me my good luck was that I would have twins.  My spiritual thought for this week is a good scripture I read this week. It is 2nd Nephi 2:24. "But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things." I like this verse because when bad things happen it is easy to get discouraged and...
