Back to normal

Image
This week was a little boring but it also felt good for things to feel a little more normal after the past few chaotic weeks.  Sadly Robson was traveling this week so he couldn't make it to church. We did have 3 friends at church though and that was awesome. A lot of this week was spent finding new people to teach and walking. Nothing super exciting happened.  This week I want to share a scripture that talks about how God won't forget about the covenants we make with Him. Mosiah 24:13 "And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage." During our hardest times we should remember the covenants that we made with God because when we keep them He will always deliver us. No matter what happens in this life God will be there to lift us up and fulfill the promises that He ...

Miracles

Image
This week was amazing but also really crazy. I saw many miracles this week.  The first one was I found Peanut Butter when I was with the Zone Leaders. I have eaten many PB and J sandwiches the past few days. I also decided to make a sandwich with pancakes and that was also super good.  The second miracle was that Elder Aviz, my new companion, arrived in Uberlândia. His bus never showed up but they got him on the last bus that came to Uberlândia so he didn't have to sleep at the bus station. He only had to wait 5 or 6 hours at the bus station. Luckily I woke up at 2 am when they called so we could pick them up from the bus station.  The third miracle is that someone who talked to the missionaries a while ago decided to show up to church and has a lot of interest in returning more times. We were kinda afraid that nobody was going to come to church even though multiple people said they would, so it was amazing when he showed up and we weren't even expecting him.  The fo...

Crazy week

This week was very different. We had exchanges and this drunk guy tried to argue with us about the story of Adam and Eve.  I got to say goodbye to my companion at the bus station as he returns home on Wednesday. Now I get to stay with the Zone Leaders, for the next 4 days, in a house with 5 missionaries and 1 bathroom.  Transfers are a little different with our new mission president and I won't know what's going to happen until early tomorrow morning. We also got to go to a party where there was lots of food and had a table to share Book of Mormons and other pamphlets about the church.  Always remember that God loves you and He is there to help you through all of your difficulties. All you have to do is get on your knees and pray to Him and ask for help.  I love you guys! Hope you're all doing fantastic! If you have any questions or just want to talk you can email me at  benson.plaster@missionary.org . Tchau, Elder Plaster  Festa Junina  Rafeal's goodb...

New president and Fire 🔥

Image
This week was very tiring. The few days we were in our area we were running around trying to visit as many people as we could.  While we were returning to Uberlândia on the bus they told us we would have to take a detour because of an accident. The next thing we knew we were driving down a dirt road with a roaring fire on one side. Luckily the bus didn't catch on fire but it definitely warmed it up.  Meeting our new president was pretty cool. He is very different than President Hancock but I'm sure it'll be good for our mission and I will learn a lot from him. This week we marked a few baptism dates and all of them have a problem with cigarettes so if you guys could pray to help them overcome this addiction I would be very grateful.  This week I was listening to the book "Saints" and I had some time to reflect on all of the sacrifices that early Saints made. The faith they had is truly incredible and inspiring. In some cases parts of their families had been killed...
