Another week goes by

Image
This week was a little crazy but passed by super fast. Being district leader has been fun but also doesn't leave a lot of time to relax.  The people we are teaching continue to progress and we are finding lots of new people. It's super exciting and kinda refreshing. We keep on seeing a lot of small miracles everyday. We helped an inactive member go to church this Sunday and that was super awesome.  My spiritual thought this week is from 1st Nephi 4:6. "And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do." It has been a little difficult to be district leader so far and I don't know what I am doing most of the time, but I know that as I try my best to have the spirit with me it will guide me to do the things the way God wants them done. I know that the same thing will happen in your lives as you look unto God for guidance and answers. Love you guys! New Responsibilities

Image
This week was crazy! I don't have a lot of time to talk so this will be quick.  I'm staying in my area for at least one more transfer. Elder Aviz left and I got a new companion. His name is Elder Winget and he is from Utah. He only has 6 weeks left on his mission so he'll be the second missionary I send home in this area.  I also got called to be district leader so things on the mission just got a lot more busy. This week we had 10 friends at church which was a miracle. It definitely helped that it was ward conference.  Remember that God loves you and wants you to return to Him. Miss you guys! Transfers???

Image
This week was pretty good. We've been preparing for the next transfer and trying to find people who want to meet with us more than one time. Our friend who has been progressing the most told us he is trying to move so we are hoping and praying that he ends up staying in the area.  I can't remember of anything special that happened this week. I'm feeling a lot better and not as sick anymore. We should be getting transfer news tomorrow which is nerve racking because I have no idea what is going to happen. This week we faced a lot of rejection and we got a little frustrated.  My spiritual thought to you guys is to keep on going. Even though we will experience hard times and people will reject us we need to keep on loving them. Jesus was rejected and suffered way worse than we will in this life. We can always look towards Him and ask for help to love others and continue on doing the right things like He did.  Hope you all are having a great summer! Love you all! If you have a...

Gripe 🤒

Image
I don't have a lot of time this week to write but this week was going pretty good. Then on Saturday my body decided to get gripe which is basically just the Brazilian version of the flu. The last few days were a little rough. It gave me some extra time to read the Book of Mormon and I have been enjoying that.  Recently we have been visiting people and after we visit them something bad happens in their lives or worse and it has been a little sad. I was wondering why this was happening because it was pretty sad to experience. Then I had a thought that I'm pretty sure the Holy Ghost put it my head. Maybe we are sent to visit them before something happens to help them through the rough times and bad things aren't happening because we visited them. Remember that God loves you. If you have any questions or just want to talk you can email me at  benson.plaster@missionary.org . Tchau, Elder Plaster  Forgot to take pictures this week. Will have more next time. Sunset

Very busy

This week was very good but also very tiring. We had interviews, zone conference, and exchanges with the Zone Leaders. I learned a lot this week and I am ready to put it to work this upcoming week. Hopefully we get to work for more time in our area this week.  We had some friends at church again and the members continue to help us a lot. I got to play some soccer and volleyball at district p-day today.  This week I got to study Ether 12 in the Book of Mormon and it is super good. I want to share a verse that stood out to me. 12 "For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith." I love this scripture because it is pretty straightforward and simple. If we don't have faith, God can't perform miracles in our lives. It is very difficult to continue to believe and have faith during the hard times when you can't see God's hand in your life, but that is the most important tim...

Back to normal

Image
This week was a little boring but it also felt good for things to feel a little more normal after the past few chaotic weeks.  Sadly Robson was traveling this week so he couldn't make it to church. We did have 3 friends at church though and that was awesome. A lot of this week was spent finding new people to teach and walking. Nothing super exciting happened.  This week I want to share a scripture that talks about how God won't forget about the covenants we make with Him. Mosiah 24:13 "And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage." During our hardest times we should remember the covenants that we made with God because when we keep them He will always deliver us. No matter what happens in this life God will be there to lift us up and fulfill the promises that He ...

Miracles

Image
This week was amazing but also really crazy. I saw many miracles this week.  The first one was I found Peanut Butter when I was with the Zone Leaders. I have eaten many PB and J sandwiches the past few days. I also decided to make a sandwich with pancakes and that was also super good.  The second miracle was that Elder Aviz, my new companion, arrived in Uberlândia. His bus never showed up but they got him on the last bus that came to Uberlândia so he didn't have to sleep at the bus station. He only had to wait 5 or 6 hours at the bus station. Luckily I woke up at 2 am when they called so we could pick them up from the bus station.  The third miracle is that someone who talked to the missionaries a while ago decided to show up to church and has a lot of interest in returning more times. We were kinda afraid that nobody was going to come to church even though multiple people said they would, so it was amazing when he showed up and we weren't even expecting him.  The fo...
